Marilyn Akinola, MDP, is a Research Project Coordinator at the Center on Gender Equity and Health (GEH) at the University of California, San Diego. She coordinates and supports several projects under Dr. Rebecka Lundgren including the Passages Social Norms Research Agenda, REAL Fathers Scale-up, and the Nigeria Learning Collaborative. She has a Masters of Development Practice (MDP) from the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining GEH, Marilyn has worked on topics ranging from fistula, literacy, population health management, women’s economic empowerment, to equitable education and healthcare access among low resource populations in the US and Sub-Saharan Africa. She aims to support research, and the design, implementation and scale-up of evidence-based interventions aimed at achieving equitable health outcomes for marginalized populations globally.
