The Center on Gender Equity and Health at the University of California San Diego seeks the following Delhi-based position. This position will support work on the GENDER Project, a collaborative research initiative between the UCSD Center on Gender Equity and Health in San Diego and the International Institute for Population Sciences in Mumbai.

A Consultant/Research Scientist, a PhD-level researcher in the field of social epidemiology, demography, biostatistics, public health, or a related field, will work for UCSD with the primary roles of analytic conceptualization, quantitative data analysis, and peer-reviewed manuscript generation specific to gender inequities in India. Advanced statistical analysis capacity, strong English language communication and writing skills, and experience in academic manuscript writing are required. Prior experience with NFHS data, ability to understand health and social policy in India, and ability to present research findings to a variety of audiences are preferred. Priority will be given to candidates with 2 years of experience working with Indian and international collaborators on public health or public policy research, prior experience with NFHS data, and demonstrated leadership writing policy briefs or contributing to peer-reviewed publications.

This position is full-time, based in Delhi, India, and will report to UCSD lead researchers. The appointment period is up to four years, based on an annual performance review and retention of funding.
