Kathryn M. Barker, ScD, MPH, is a social epidemiologist with expertise in adolescent sexual and reproductive health, social and gender norms, multilevel modeling, and social network analysis. She holds a Doctor of Science from Harvard University and a Master of Public Health from UNC/Chapel Hill. Dr. Barker’s research focuses on socio-contextual drivers of women and girls’ reproductive health outcomes, specifically the role of gender socialization processes within adolescent peer groups. Dr. Barker contributes to the Center’s global research portfolio on gender and social norms on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and to the examination of multilevel risk and resilience factors for sexual violence across the lifespan.
