Amanda Farr, MPH is a Research Project Manager with the Center on Gender Equity and Health. She supports the Agency for All project directed by Dr. Rebecka Lundgren in East and West Africa and South Asia. Amanda holds an MPH, with a focus on Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, from the San Diego State University School of Global Public Health, and a B. Ed. in Educational Sciences from Western Governors University. Amanda comes to GEH from the UC San Diego Child and Adolescent Services Research Center where she spent three years coordinating research and evaluation studies to develop service assessments and improve the use of research in public sector service systems. Prior to this position, Amanda was a foster parent in San Diego County, working with drug exposed, medically fragile and HIV+ children. Amanda’s research experience has focused on community participatory approaches in an effort to promote equitable research partnerships and improve health. In her free-time, Amanda enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, and playing recreational soccer. She lives in San Diego with her wife, four children, and three dogs.
