OUR WORK AND IMPACT

TaTa Institute of Genetics and Society (TIGS) Social Sciences

The Tata Institute for Active Genetics and Society is dedicated to supporting research aimed at developing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems, ranging from health care to agriculture. A society and ethics focus leverages UCSD’s expertise in health, ethics, policy and economics, to connect researchers and experts in India with larger UCSD research and education initiatives, with the goal of providing ethical guidance for research activities in bioscience and the application of new technologies. Dr. Raj’s role is to contribute to the capacity-building and engagement with social scientists and public health researchers in India and at UCSD, and to promote innovative field methods and support the transition of TIGS-related research into solutions to support society and health in India.
