OUR WORK AND IMPACT

Strengthening the Evidence Base to End Child Marriage

With this project we aim to understand the intersections of gender inequities and child marriage, and to identify opportunities to integrate community engagement and gender empowerment interventions that support normative and behavioral change. This work builds on existing evidence and UNFPA and UNICEF programming experience across Africa and South Asia and will provide a road map for countries to identify key interventions to be considered when setting up or strengthening dedicated programs to address the drivers of child marriage. This work is in collaboration with UNICEF’s Communication for Development (C4D) office, with a collaborative goal to generate and share knowledge that supports child marriage prevention program efforts, and to inform policy development that strives to reduce child marriage.
